Exactly what’s covered
Whatever your child’s exam board, tier, or year group — here’s what we cover and how groups are organised.
Major UK exam boards
We cover AQA, Edexcel (Pearson) and OCR. Specific group availability depends on tutor scheduling and demand — tell us your child’s exam board on enquiry and we’ll let you know what’s running.
Foundation and Higher — separately
We teach both tiers in their own dedicated groups. Foundation and Higher students are never mixed in the same session, so the pace and content is always pitched at the right level.
Year 10 and Year 11
Whether your child needs early-stage support in Year 10 or focused exam preparation in Year 11, there’s a group that fits. Groups are organised by year and ability.

How GCSE Maths sessions actually work
One hour, once a week, with the same tutor and the same small group. Here’s what we do with that time.
Diagnose the gaps
Your tutor finds out exactly where the holes are — the topics still missing, the misconceptions getting in the way.
Teach to the spec
Targeted explanations, worked examples, and practice — all aligned to your child’s exam board and tier.
Drill the exam
Past papers, mark schemes, and exam technique. Knowing the maths isn’t enough — knowing how the exam asks for it is.
Practise together
Live working through problems as a group, with the tutor on hand. Mistakes get caught early, ideas get shared, and confidence builds session by session.
Why small groups change everything for GCSE Maths
Maths confidence is fragile. In a class of thirty, a quiet child won’t put their hand up — and a single missed step quietly turns into a missed topic, then a missed grade.
In a Bright Path group of five, that quiet child has nowhere to hide. Every question gets asked. Every mistake gets caught early. And every small win gets noticed by a tutor who actually has time to look.

Qualified UK teachers — every single one
Every Bright Path tutor is an experienced UK-trained teacher or school leader. No newly-qualified teachers. No undergraduates moonlighting. No agency middlemen. Just teachers who’ve stood in front of GCSE Maths classes, marked the papers, sat the moderation meetings — and know exactly what your child needs to do to move up a grade.
What families are saying
My daughter really struggles in confidence with Maths. Steve assigned her a tutor that has been patient and supportive, and as a result we’ve seen an improvement in her recent mock exam grades. She will carry on with tuition up until her GCSEs, and I am confident — with the help of Bright Path Learning — that she will achieve a solid pass.
My sincere thanks to all your colleagues who have been teaching my son in the run up to and during his GCSEs (2025). The out-of-school tuition has been invaluable for his Maths and Science exams. You have given him a massive boost with your dedicated and structured online classes, and helped him reach his potential.
Having struggled with maths and science in the past, both Steve and Sam have helped me massively with gaining confidence as well as achieving top grades throughout the course. I look forward to our sessions every week and would highly recommend it to those looking for quality teachers.
My daughter started having maths and science lessons with Bright Path Learning this past September and already feels more confident in both subjects.

Common questions about GCSE Maths tuition
Which exam boards do you teach for GCSE Maths?
We cover all the major UK exam boards for GCSE Maths — AQA, Edexcel (Pearson) and OCR. Specific group availability depends on tutor scheduling and demand at the time you enquire, so let us know your child’s exam board and tier and we’ll tell you what’s running.
Do you teach Foundation and Higher tier?
Yes — we teach both Foundation and Higher tier GCSE Maths, in separate groups. Foundation and Higher students are never mixed in the same session, so the pace and content is always pitched at the right level.
How much does GCSE Maths tuition cost?
Our GCSE group sessions are £30 per student per 60-minute session, in groups of up to 5. Sessions are paid for half-termly in advance, so you know exactly what you’re committing to.
What if my child can’t make a session?
All sessions are recorded as standard. Recordings can be shared on request, so if your child misses a session they can catch up on what was covered. Our full attendance and refunds policy explains how we handle longer absences.
What equipment does my child need?
A laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet place to work. A pen and paper for working through problems is helpful too.
What platform do you use?
Sessions run through Google Classroom, which hosts the live video call and the shared materials and resources for each group. There’s nothing to install — your child just needs a Google account and the link we’ll send before each session.
